Dog Licensing

Requirements

All dogs age seven months or older must be licensed and immunized against rabies infection, with the latter expiring no earlier than April 1 of the coming year. Licenses may be renewed each June and are valid for one calendar year. Proof of immunization and sterilization (if applicable) is required at the time of licensing.  (§97-1)

The fee schedule is as follows (Late fee only applies to renewals, NOT new registrations):

  • Neutered / Spayed Dogs: $12.20
  • Unaltered Dogs: $15.20
  • Late Registration (August 1 – October 1): $5.00 + Registration Fee
  • Late Registration (October 2 – November 15): $10.00 + Registration Fee
  • Late Registration (November 16 – May 31): $15.00 + Registration Fee

Failure to license your dog may result in a fine for each offense (one offense per dog per year).

So How Do I Get It Done?

In Person

You may obtain a registration for your dog in person (the dog need not be present).  The Health Department manages animal licensing.  It is located on the lower level in the front of the building. Please enter the building from the rear parking lot to sign in and descend the stairs.  The Health Office is to your left.
