National Night Out
National Night Out (NNO) is an annual celebration of community held by police departments across the country. It is held on the first Tuesday night in August. It began originally as an event where you would turn on your front porch light and sit outside to prevent crime. Today it has evolved into block parties, cookouts, parades, visits from police, festivals, neighborhood walks, safety fairs, contests, rallies, and meetings nationwide. The 2026 event will be hosted at the Ewing Municipal Building at 2 Jake Garzio Drive on Tuesday, August 4th and includes food, music, fire trucks, representatives from local community groups and more. The rain date is Wednesday, August 5th.
Community Fest is an annual community celebration hosted by Ewing Township and The College of New Jersey in early fall. Held on the TCNJ campus, the free event provides a day of fun, music, a KidZone, and a diverse array of crafts and goods just in time for your holiday shopping. Don't forget to check out the Ewing Police Department's Bike Rodeo for kids ages 4 - 12. Then check out the crafts, vendors and local and community groups, the Community Fest Village is easily accessible from all parking lots. You can also meet representatives from the area's non-profit and civic organizations, where you will learn what a difference they make in our communities and find out how you can, too. Ewing Green Team Fall Spin
Something special is planned for the Ewing Green Team's Annual Fall Spin in 2026! In celebration of America's 250th birthday and in partnership with Ewing 250, this year we are going to Ride the Revolution! You are invited to join us in our Ewing 250: Crossroads of the Revolution Bike Ride and retrace Washington’s historic Christmas march from Washington Crossing in Titusville to Trenton. The end point of the ride will be the Old Barracks Museum.
This will be a 19-mile round trip with police escort, guest speakers, rest stops and refreshments along the way. The first part of the ride may be challenging for inexperienced riders, so we encourage you to get out this summer and prepare for our event. The event is still in the planning stage so look for more information to come as things fall into place. This annual event is held in partnership with the Ewing Recreation Department and is open to participants ages 18 and up as we enjoy our connection to our nation’s past and participate in some of the celebrations across the nation, all while adhering to our mission of raising awareness of bicycle safety and promoting healthy lifestyles as well as a more bikeable Ewing. Trunk Or Treat
A "safe alternative" to trick-or-treating, Ewing’s Trunk or Treat event is usually held the weekend before Halloween. During the event Ewing children from tiny tots up through eighth grade are invited to gather there and go from car to car, collecting treats. Treats are distributed by Ewing parents and other adults from their decorated car trunks loaded with candy. (Pre-registration for all participating vehicles is required. Preregistration of all treaters requested to help us prepare ensure sufficient treats. Register through CivicPlus Recreation Management.) All candy must be pre-packaged. The 2026 event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 3 p.m., at The College of NJ (TCNJ), lot # 4, rain or shine. Treaters and Trunks must register at ewingnj.org/recregistration. Activities including pumpkin decorating, arts and crafts, food, music and more will begin at 2 p.m.
Mayor's Holiday Tree Lighting
The Annual Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony provides Township kids of all ages the opportunity to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus. Santa and his elves will arrive by fire truck to light the holiday tree. There will be pictures with Santa, carol singing, refreshments and more! Hosted by the Ewing Patriotic Committee and the Township Recreation Department, the 2026 event will be held at Major General George J. Betor Veterans Memorial Park behind Town Hall on Saturday, December 5th at 5 pm. (rain date - Dec 6th) The event begins at 5 pm | Santa arrives at 6 pm | Tree lighting will be held at 6:30 pm.
