Community Programs

The following Community Programs are sponsored/promoted by the Ewing Recreation Department.

National Night Out
National Night Out (NNO) is an annual celebration of community held by police departments across the country. It is held on the first Tuesday night in August. It began originally as an event where you would turn on your front porch light and sit outside to prevent crime. Today it has evolved into block parties, cookouts, parades, visits from police, festivals, neighborhood walks, safety fairs, contests, rallies, and meetings nationwide. The event is hosted at the ESCC and includes food, music, fire trucks, representatives from local community groups and more.

Biking   Ewing Green Team Fall Spin
Held annually every September as a kick-off to Community Fest, the Green Team sponsors their annual Ewing Fall Spin in partnership with the Ewing Recreation Department for adults ages 18 and up as a way to promote a more bikeable Ewing.
Cancelled for 2020.

Trunk or Treat  Trunk Or Treat
A "safe alternative" to trick-or-treating, Ewing’s Trunk or Treat event is usually held the weekend before Halloween.  During the event Ewing children from tiny tots up through eighth grade are invited to gather there and go from car to car, collecting treats.  Treats are distributed by Ewing parents and other adults from their decorated car trunks loaded with candy.  (Pre-registration for all participating vehicles is required.)  All candy must be pre-packaged.  The event is held in the parking lot at the Ewing Senior & Community Center, 999 Lower Ferry Road.  Look for information about the event in early Fall.

Scarecrow Contest All Around Town Scarecrow  Scavenger Hunt and Contest
Residents, businesses, schools, organizations and civic groups will be creating and hosting scarecrows all around town. Follow the clues to track them down and if you’re good and find them all, you will earn a chance to win $200! Vote for your favorite and the People’s Choice business or organization will win a $100 donation to a charity of their choice.  The Hunt will be open from Oct 1 - Oct 29.   Winners will be announced on October 31st at approximately 5 pm via Zoom.

Holiday Tree Lighting
 Mayor's Holiday Tree Lighting

The Annual Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony provides Township kids of all ages the opportunity to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus. The event features live music, entertainment and refreshments. Hosted by the Ewing Patriotic Committee and the Township Recreation Department, it is held at the ESCC every December.
