Join Us as We Raise a Flag in Celebration of Juneteenth on Tuesday, June 18th

On behalf of Mayor Bert Steinmann and the Township Council, Ewing Township invites you to join them for our inaugural Juneteenth flag-raising ceremony, celebrating the historic significance of Juneteenth.
Juneteenth2024The event will take place on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 12 noon at the Ewing Township Municipal Building, lower level.

Juneteenth, observed annually on June 19th, commemorates the day in 1865 when news of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reached enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas, marking the effective end of slavery in the United States. This day is a powerful reminder of our nation’s history and a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality.

We look forward to seeing you on June 18th as we commemorate Juneteenth and celebrate our commitment to building a more inclusive and just community.
