Alkaline batteries, (dry cell) , AAA, AA, A, C, D & 9 volt are to be placed in the garbage with your regular household refuse.
Check with local repair facilities to see if they accept or turn it in when you get a new battery. Otherwise, take to Mercer County Household Chemical Waste Disposal Day.
Cut and stacked orderly, placed at curbside during scheduled collection period. Not to exceed 4 foot lengths and 6 inches diameter. Non-conforming piles will be left at curb and code violation may be issued.
Brush can be dropped off at the Brush Drop Off Center, End of Dover Ave. (access from Prospect Street to Dover Ave).

- M-F: 7:00am - 3:00pm | Closed 11:30 - 12:30 for lunch.
- S: 7:00am - 2:00pm | open continuously
Closings:
- Closed periodically for mulching and cleanups. (look for website notices)
- Will close on 1/18/25 and reopen on 3/1/25.
Seasonal Note
Curbside brush pickup is suspended during leaf pickup season -- November and December -- and also in January and February.. During the gutter leaf pick-up season, brush can still be dropped off at the Brush Drop Off Site.
Dispose with your regular household refuse or call a local shipping outlet to see if they will accept. DO NOT RECYCLE.
A drop off container is located in the Township lobby or the Ewing Recreation Building. All related equipment is accepted including batteries and chargers.
Recycle them at Ewing Recreation Building located at 136 Scotch Rd or one of the Mercer County Electronics Waste Days.
Covered electronic devices (CEDS) Computers, TVs, Printers / Scanners may be dropped off at 136 Scotch Road or wait to dispose of them through the Mercer County Household Chemical Waste Disposal Day or the Electronic Disposal Day. All other electronics are trash including associated cables and wires.
Dispose through the Mercer County Household Chemical Waste Disposal Day.
Weekly curbside trash collection in plastic bags in garbage cans. Strongly urge residents to mulch grass into lawns

Latex paint is to be placed in the garbage with your regular household refuse. Remove lids, air dry the cans or fill with sand or kitty litter prior to placing out for garbage collection. DO NOT RECYCLE.

Check listings for local landscaper or disposal company of your choice for removal and disposal.
Items may not be dropped off at brush drop off site and will not be picked up at the curb.

Check yellow pages under Gas-Propane for disposal. Propane tanks may NOT be dropped off at the Bulk Waste Drop Off Center. Propane tanks may be taken to the Mercer County Improvement Authority (MCIA) Household Chemical and Electronics Waste Disposal Days. Visit the MCIA website for dates.
You may also xchange them at various retailers like Home Depot and Lowes.
Batteries less than 2 lbs. can be disposed of at locations such as Ewing Recreation Building, Radio Shack, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Sears. Look for the drop off container.
Refer to the Yellow Pages for local scrap metal yards or you may drop it off at our Residential Convenience Center located at 136 Scotch Rd.
Plastic, Styrofoam, cardboard (pizza boxes included) are to be disposed through your regular household refuse. DO NOT RECYCLE.
Residents may drop them off at 136 Scotch Rd or dispose of them through the Mercer County Household Chemical Waste Disposal Day or the Electronic Disposal Day.
For a $2.00/tire charge, tires off the rim can be taken to the Ewing Recreation Maintenance Building, located at 136 Scotch Rd (please call for appointment) (609) 883-2902.
Used motor oil can also be taken to the Mercer County Household Chemical Waste Disposal Day.

Picked up curbside as bulk item. Glass must be taped with duct tape. Note: Work done by contractors will not be picked up.
