Register Your Child Today for a Fun-Filled Summer Camp Experience with the Ewing Recreation Department

Summer Camp Registration for kids entering grades K - 10 is now available.

Summer CampMayor Bert Steinmann and the Ewing Recreation Department are pleased to offer 10 week-long summer camp programs to give kids an adventurous, active and healthy summer.  Camp programs include our Summer Day Camp for children entering grades K – 5, our popular Teen Travel Camp for teens entering grades 6 – 9, and our Counselor in Training program for students entering grades 9 & 10.

Our programs offer kids the opportunity to make new friends, try new things and make summer memories.  We strive to find fun activities and exciting locations for our trips so that our campers are busy all day, every day!   Many of our campers are new each year, but many come back year after year.  Some come with their friends while others come alone and make new friends during the camp season.

Summer Day Camp

Our Summer Day Camp is a full day program that offers 8 regular camp weeks beginning June 22nd and ending August 14th.  There are thee (3) post camp weeks to complete the summer: August 17th, August 24th and August 31st.   The weekly schedule includes fields trips every Thursday, daily swim lessons and free swim in the afternoon, arts and crafts, nature, sports, cooking, dancing, special events and much more.  Unless noted on the schedule or other camp documents, all camp activities take place at the ESCC.  The registration fee includes all transportation and admissions.  Lunch can be purchased from the snack bar. Menus are given to campers a week ahead of time.

Teen Travel Camp

Our very popular Teen Travel Camp takes campers to a different destination each day of their week-long session.  These include places like the beach, theme parks, and cultural centers in the Tri-State area.  One day each week, teens remain at the ESCC for swimming and other activities or take a half day trip.  Teen Travel Camp session begin the week of June 29th. Trip departure is from the ESCC.  All trips are subject to change due to availability, weather, enrollment, etc.  Three post-camp weeks are also available (weeks beginning August 17th, 24th, and 31st).   The staff consists of certified teachers, college graduates, and college-aged students who will help to supervise the teen campers. The registration fee includes all transportation, admissions and camp T-shirts.

Counselor in Training (CIT)

The Counselor in Training (CIT) program is for Ewing residents only and runs from weeks 2 – 8.  This program is for mature and responsible applicants and offers enrollees the opportunity to develop the leadership qualities necessary to be a Camp Counselor while offering on the job training.  Performance evaluations are given regularly throughout the camp sessions and are referred to when the CIT applies for work the next year. The camper can also attend regular Summer Camp on weeks #1, Post 1, Post 2, Post 3 or Teen Travel. Regular camp fees apply for those weeks.
