How to Register to Vote

registertovotesmNew NJ voters hoping to cast a ballot in the upcoming general election have until October 14th to complete their voter registration.  Municipal Clerk Kim Macellaro would like to remind residents that the deadline for registering to vote in the November 4, 2025, New Jersey General Election is Tuesday, October 14, 2025.  You may register online, by mail, or in person. 

IN PERSON VOTER REGISTRATION HOURS are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday at the Township Clerk’s Office located on the second floor of the municipal building, 2 Jake Garzio Drive. 

TO REGISTER BY MAIL, you may download a voter registration form below or pick up a paper application from the Clerk’s office.   All forms must be received, and you must be registered at least 21 days in advance of an election to vote.

TO REGISTER ONLINE, you will need your date of birth and one of the following forms of identification:

  • A current and valid Driver’s License or a non-driver Identification Card (ID card) issued by the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (MVC) Your information will be provided to the MVC to validate identification, and to retrieve a copy of your digitized signature. -or-
  • A Social Security number. To use your social security number, you must have the ability to sign on-screen or upload your signature to complete the registration process. If you are unable to provide a digital signature, you cannot register online. Click here to download the voter registration application for your county.

Eligibility Requirements

You must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible to vote and be at least 18 years old by General Election Day.  You must also have lived in Mercer County for 30 days before the election.  Registration is permanent, and re-registration is only required for a change of name or residence.

The registrant must complete a Voter Registration Form. Mail or deliver the Voter Registration Application Form to the County Commissioner of Registration or Superintendent of Elections for your county.

Residents serving a sentence, probation or parole because of a felony conviction are not eligible to vote.

Important Dates for the General Election

  • September 20th – Vote by Mail Ballots for the General Election begin mailing
  • October 14th – Last day to register to vote for the General Election
  • Oct 28th – Deadline to apply, by mail, for a Vote by Mail Ballot for the General Election
  • Oct 25th – Nov 2nd – In-Person Early Voting Period: Mon - Sat, 10 am – 8 pm. | Sunday 10 am - 6 pm
  • Nov 3rd at 3 pm – Deadline to apply for a Vote by Mail Ballot in person at your County Clerk’s office
  • Nov 4th – General Election Day – Polls are open from 6 am – 8 pm
