Ewing Township Animal Control received a call from a resident in the area of Riverview Drive about a bat found inside a home. The bat was removed from the home and has since tested positive for rabies.
All residents are advised not to approach wildlife and to report wildlife which are behaving oddly to Animal Control. Residents should ensure their cats and dogs are up-to-date with rabies vaccination. Any recent human or pet exposures to animals in this area must be reported to Animal Control immediately at 609-883-2900 x7175. Rabies is a fatal but preventable viral disease. It can spread to people and pets if they are bitten or scratched by a rabid animal.
