Bulk Waste

Bulk Drop-Off Procedures

For 136 Scotch Rd Facility

To save tax dollars and end abuses of Convenience Center privileges by non-residents and commercial entities Ewing Township has instituted a structured process for dropping off bulk waste at the Convenience Center on 136 Scotch Road.  Each Ewing address is now entitled to 10 pickup truck load drop-off visits to the facility per year with the purchase of a $50 bulk waste pass online.

Bulk Waste Purchase

All residents can purchase bulk waste pass online 24/7. If there are any residents that struggle with technology, assistance can be given at the Municipal Building reception desk at 2 Jake Garzio Drive or alternatively at 136 Scotch during operating hours. (M - F)

Requirements

All households are restricted to 10 visits to the facility annually. The bulk waste pass may not be recharged for more visits, and you cannot purchase more visits within the same year. Pass use is not transferable and bulk waste generated from outside Ewing Township is not permitted. You must have a valid ID and pass to dump. Ewing Township reserves the right to reject any or all materials at the discretion of attendants.

Restrictions

Convenience Center privileges are limited to legal residents of Ewing Township only. The following groups are excluded from the Convenience Center: commercial entities, County, State of Federal governments, and non-residents of the Township living in student dormitories and/or housing located on the campus of The College of New Jersey. Contractors are not allowed. Materials may not be dropped off in vehicles with commercial plates.

Each separate trip to the Convenience Center shall constitute a separate drop-off for purposes of calculating each resident's ten residential bulk waste drop-offs, even if occurring on the same day.

Residents from separate households may not share a bulk waste pass regardless of whether the residential bulk waste originated from another residential address within the Township.

Bulk waste pass used in violation of this order shall be cancelled and any remaining drop-offs associated with that address will be vacated for that calendar year.

Quantity and size limitations

  • One car, SUV or standard pickup truck bed filled with materials constitutes one drop-off
  • One utility trailer filled with materials  constitutes one drop-off.
  • Overage (2 drop-offs) - if the materials rises more than 2 feet above the bed of the truck or trailer.

 Utility Trailer restrictions

  •  Maximum of 6 x 8 in size.
  • Not enclosed
  • Materials loaded in a car, SUV, or Pickup truck in addition to trailer will constitute two loads.
