Lower Ferry Road Closure Notice on or About March 18th

On or about Monday, March 18, 2024, construction will begin on the replacement of Mercer County Bridge No. 414.4, Lower Ferry Road over Shabakunk Creek. 

The duration of the project is approximately one hundred fifteen (115) calendar days, weather permitting.  The work for the replacement will be performed by CMS Construction. During this time Lower Ferry Road between Parkway Ave. and Carlton Ave. will be closed 24/7 to vehicular traffic.

Motorists would be directed to use Parkway Ave., Olden Ave., Pennington Rd. (NJ Route 31), and Carlton Ave.  Local traffic will still be able to use the road up to Theresa St. and Terrance Blvd.  Additionally, pedestrian traffic will be maintained throughout the duration of the project and through the site via the installation of a temporary pedestrian bridge.

Mercer County staff have posted signs advising motorists of the upcoming project. We would appreciate it if you or a member of your staff please coordinate and notify the affected residents and businesses, emergency response and school transportation officials and other pertinent groups, agencies or organizations that may be temporarily inconvenienced due to construction.
