Blood Pressure Clinic

Free blood pressure screenings (no age limit) are held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at the Ewing Senior and Community Center, 999 Lower Ferry Road from 10 am to noon.  No appointment is necessary.  Holidays and weather may alter the date (please call to check in advance.).  Call 609-883-2900 x7685, 7686.

NJ Cancer Screening Events (NJCEED)

The NJ Cancer Education and Early Detection Program offers eligible Mercer County residents comprehensive outreach, education and screening services for the following cancers:

  • Breast
  • Cervical
  • Colorectal 
  • Prostate

Eligibility
This program is for the uninsured (NO INSURANCE) and underinsured. To be eligible for free cancer screening through NJCEED, your income must be at or below 250 percent (in other words, two and a half times) the federal poverty level (FPL).

Services are provided at NJCEED Cancer Screening Clinic, 416 Bellevue Ave Suite 401, Trenton, NJ 08618.  Call 609-989-0236 for more information and an appointment.  Hours: 9 am – 2pm.

Mammograms

Free mammograms are offered through the Princeton Health Care System at Medical Commons 2, 300B Princeton-Hightstown Road, East Windsor, NJ.  Call 609-688-2700 for more information and an appointment.

Confidential STD and HIV Counseling, Testing and Treatment

Ewing residents have access to free, confidential clinics for Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD) and Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) from the Hamilton Health Department through a shared services agreement located at Hamilton Health Department, 2100 Greenwood Ave., Hamilton, NJ 08609.  The clinic schedule is Tuesdays from 9 am to 12 noon.  Please call the Hamilton Township Division of Health at 609-890-3647 or 609-890-3884 to confirm the clinic hours and if you have questions. Walk-ins allowed.

Free Pregnancy Testing

Free pregnancy testing services are conducted under the auspices of Catholic Charities in Trenton at 383 West State Street/433 Bellevue Ave., Trenton, NJ 08618.  Call 609-394-4111 for more information and an appointment. General Catholic Charities phone number 1-800-360-7711.

Tuberculosis Screening

The Mantoux Test (TST) skin test, aka a purified protein derivative (PPD) test, is a test that determines if you have had a tuberculosis (TB) exposure.

  • Screenings are done at the Ewing Township Health Department, Ewing Municipal Building, 2 Jake Garzio Drive, on the lower level.
  • Mondays - Wednesdays
  • By appointment only

Adult Protective Services

This program investigates reports of suspected abuse, neglect, and exploitation of vulnerable adults living in the community. Reports may be made by anyone.  APS will identify and put in place, services that can help the vulnerable person.   Call 609-989-4346 for more information.

Drug and Alcohol Addiction Services

The Mercer County Office on Addiction Services Department funds the following addiction services at local agencies: detoxification, residential treatment, outpatient/intensive outpatient treatment, and halfway house services.   To be eligible for the above services, you must be a Mercer County resident who is uninsured or underinsured and earn no more than 350% of the federal poverty level.  For more information see the Funded Addiction Services page on the Mercer County website.

Ewing residents can also obtain additional information about drug and alcohol addiction services in our area from the Ewing Drug and Alcohol Alliance website – http://ewingdrugalliance.org/.  The Ewing Drug & Alcohol Alliance is a volunteer organization working to prevent alcohol and drug related problems in Ewing Township.  They consult with and advise Town Council on matters relating to alcoholism and drug abuse, assist Town Council, Police, Schools & community leaders to prevent alcohol and drug related problems in Ewing Township and provide education and resources on the prevention, intervention and treatment of alcoholism & other drug problems.
